Physical Store
We are located in Houston's historic East End, 2 blocks off the upper Houston Ship Channel and about 3 miles east of downtown Houston. We're proud to be a part of such a vibrant, exciting city and even prouder to be Texans.
Our customers benefit from stable continuous store ownership. Henry and Mary Cox, along with their son Lloyd, founded Cox Hardware in 1946. Today the Cox family still owns and actively manages the company, along with an outstanding professional staff.
Online Store
We launched our first online store in 1999 as a way to better serve our local customers. As technology has improved, we have found that folks from all over the US now shop with us online. We hope that you will experience the same great service online as you would in person. We know you have a choice, and we want you to choose us.
Our Connections for Sourcing
We purchase many of the products we stock directly from over 200 manufacturers. This gives us the flexibility to stock the exact items you need or the brand you want, or maybe something just a little unusual. We are also members of the Do It Best and Handy Hardware Wholesale buying cooperatives. Membership in DIB and Handy gives us weekly scheduled access to hundreds of thousands of products at great prices. Additionally, we are members of the STAFDA, the Specialty Tool and Fastener Distributor Association.
