For online orders, please note: tax will be added by default but will not be charged if the order is shipped to a location outside of Texas. The actual shipping charge (from UPS) is what will be charged for items that are shipped; the shopping cart rarely calculates the correct shipping. Our goal is to ship the correct product to the correct address within 1 business day of receipt. Usually, orders received by 11 am CST will go out the same day, otherwise the following day.

Delivery Policy
Our delivery policy relates to local deliveries. For online purchases, please see our shipping policy or shipping fees. Our Delivery Goals:

3. To extend our store right to your receiving dock
Please note that a $6 fuel surcharge has been added to all deliveries that we make with
one of our trucks, effective March 2006.

What Personal Information About Customers Does Cox Hardware Gather?
Information You Give Us: We receive and store any information you enter on our Web site or give us in any other way. We use the information that you provide for such purposes as responding to your requests, customizing future shopping for you, improving our stores, and communicating with you.
Does Cox Hardware Share the Information It Receives?
Information about our customers is an important part of our business, and we are not in the business of selling it to others. We share customer information only with the business partners as described below:
Agents: We employ other companies and individuals to perform functions on our behalf. Examples include fulfilling orders, delivering packages, sending postal mail and e-mail and providing customer service. Security
We use Verisign for our web security. We work to protect the security of your information during transmission by using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software, which encrypts information you input. All credit card and personal information is transmitted in ‘secure’ mode.
We reveal only the last digits of your credit card numbers when confirming an order. Of course, we transmit the entire credit card number to the appropriate credit card processor.

Order Processing
Orders are typically filled and shipped within 24 hours of receipt. Due to stock shortages, some items may be back ordered and ship at a later date. Cox Hardware, Inc. reserves the right to ship partial orders or hold an order for complete shipment at our sole discretion. Prior to back ordering an item or partial shipping an order Cox Hardware, Inc. will either contact you for instructions before shipping or cancel your order and notify you of such cancellation.

Cox Hardware, Inc.'s web site does not offer on-line order cancellation. To cancel an order, please contact our order department at (713) 923-9458 within 24 business hours of placing your order. You may also e-mail your request to sales@coxhardware.com.

Shipping fees

Usually, orders received by 11 am CST will go out the same day, otherwise the following day.
Shipping fees calculated on our web site are approximate based on information provided by UPS. We cannot confirm the shipping fees until your order enters the shipping process. Despite our best efforts, a small number of orders have incorrect shipping fees. Rest assured, however, that we verify these fees as part of our shipping procedures.
If an order's correct shipping fee is lower than the calculated fee, we charge the lower amount and ship you the order.
If an order's correct shipping fee is higher than the calculated fee, we will, at our discretion, either contact you for instructions before shipping or cancel your order and notify you of such cancellation.
Back ordered items shipped separately will be shipped based on the original requested ship method and charged a separate shipping fee. We will contact you for instructions before shipping or cancel your back order.
The shipping rates for many items we sell are weight-based. To reflect the policies of the shipping companies we use, all weights will be rounded up to the next full pound.

Returns
Within 30 days of receipt of your shipment (including gifts), you may return any item, for a full refund. If the return is a result of our error, subject to our sole determination, we'll also refund the shipping cost. Items are not returnable if they are in un-sellable or like-new condition, or are missing parts.
We will notify you via e-mail of your refund once we have received and processed the returned item. You can expect a refund in the same form of payment originally used for purchase within 7 to 14 business days of our receiving your return. Please note that we can refund shipping costs only if the return is a result of our error.
Packing and Sending Your Return
It only takes a few simple steps:
1. Pack the items along with the packing slip (receipt) securely in a box. We recommend you can use the original box the items arrived in. You may use another box if you prefer.
2. Affix the shipping label to the outside of the box. Ship items directly to our store. The store address can be found on our web site or on the original packing slip (receipt).
3. Give the package to your mail carrier. You can use anyone you like, but UPS stops at our store every day.

Payment Processing
All payments are in advance and by credit card. Your card is charge only for the items that are shipped, plus shipping and handling charges. Rest assured that we do NOT charge your credit card until your order enters the shipping process.

Disputes regarding privacy or security will be handled by Cox Hardware’s Customer Service.
